 | What are the Advantages of Implants? |
| | Advantage of Implants over removable denture is that the removable loose denture can be fitted on the jaw bone & made fixed. The Advantage of Implants over Fixed Caps (Crowns) is that unlike Caps (Crowns), we do not have to do cutting of healthy adjacent 2 teeth and we can directly fix the Implant on the jaw bone in place of missing tooth & have a fixed tooth.

 | What is the Procedure for fixing Implants? |
| | First the patients Dental Digital OPG (full mouth x-ray) is taken, the height and width of the jawbone is measured and accordingly the type of Implant (screw) to be used is selected. A small hole is drilled on the gums & the jaw bone in place of missing tooth. The Implant is then put into that hole such as it is snuggly fitting. The Implant is inserted to that height that the head of it is up to the Gum level. This is left inside for approx 3 months to allow bone deposition surrounding the implant and thus causing complete adhesion of implant inside. After 3 months, abutment is put on top & the Ceramic (porcelain) cap is fitted onto it. This cap can now be used as a natural tooth.
